Abstract

Microthermophotovoltaic (micro-TPV) system is one type of micro-power generator that extensively developed nowadays to convert radiation heat energy from hydrocarbon fuel combustion into useful electricity by using low band-gap photovoltaic cell for microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). The system consists of heat source (microcombustor), thermal emitter (microcombustor surfaces), dielectric/optical filter and photovoltaic (PV) cells. The architecture of micro-TPV systems and its components are under consideration now for researchers study in order to improve the overall system architecture, efficiency and performance to be practically implemented in MEMS industry.
